I don't understand how you judge knee room of the rear seats. I've seen you say knee room is good in a tighter space than this, yet you said this is tight.

I'll miss my Einser, it has been a fun travelling companion for 135K miles. It is still the best drivers hatchback outside of performance models and the BMW diesels are excellent. The only thing I won't miss is the lack of a spare it really sucks getting a puncture on a motorway at 11pm with the family onboard and waiting for a recovery vehicle!

Matt, why would the boot be bigger? It's the same body with only a facelift! So don't feign surprise.

Come on, there are more important questions to ask the concierge... like "what's the air speed velocity of an unladen Swallow?".

I love this 1 series 15 plate new shape. I’m driving from last 6 months, so pretty awesome 😎

I’m a bit late but i’m looking for a new car and this is one of the options. I currently drive a 2013 corsa limited edition, and despite the great, sporty looks, it’s really slow only being a 1.2 and i fear the fact it’s so slow you have to completely use up each gear to get anywhere because there is no power, ironically using more fuel in the process. I know the 116i is a 1.6 and has more power, and slightly worse fuel economy, but am i right in guessing fuel would work out roughly the same as this is more efficient and has the eco pro mode?

New back lights look quite Vauxhall Corsa esque!

Look, i dont like this car, but even if it wasnt RWD (like the A3), it'd still have that hump in the middle of car (like in the A3), albeit perhaps smaller. The solution to that is TO PUT EACH FOOT ON EITHER SIDE OF SAID HUMP. If that hump makes the rear seat on the 1 series reduntant, the same applies to every car ever.

Don't know why BMW or Mercedes don't try to bring over the A Class and the 1 series over to North America. We already get the 2 series and B class in Canada, it would be nice if they brought over the A and the 1.

it would be nice, if you mention in your videos wich particular motors (e.g. 116d, 118d, 120d) the cars have, that makes your opinions about the driving experience more understandable!

These are getting pretty affordable - cheaper than the said mazda 3 of the same age. Just wonder about the reliability and service costs of "premium" badge. Really like the looks of this, it is neck a neck with mazda 3 for best looking hatch imo.

Yes we can get Mazda 3 with that money but they still havent released that 1, 5 diesel in Mazda 3.

If only they offered this and the A-Class in the U.S.. It would've opened up their market to more buyers.

Well thats all very nice, but is it reliable in the long term? Ive seen some issues with these while working for a dealer, and to be honest, apart from some details, you are just buying a badge. Ive seen electric problems, brake issues, you name it. I wouldnt buy one unless BMW convince me they are as reliable as a Toyota or a Subaru.
