So with the new phones the methods have changed a bit. You will need to follow some of these steps but instead you will need make the file a zip, then transfer it to your laptop, then you will be able to create an actual file out of it with everything on it, finally you will need to drag it to a created playlist in applemusic.

You may need to drag them in separately on phone as it did that to me however everything you dragged over from the laptop files to applemusic will all be on your phone just broken up into albums as it did that to me. Ive spent hours messing around so I hope this helps.

I use the VLC app to play music and movies from the FILES. Don’t need a computer just movie mp3 and movies to the VLC folder and it’ll play.

Thanks for the video. Apple are ridiculously bad. Crazy that we have to jump through these hoops. Should be able to do this with a click and add to the app, like you can with the all other apps. But thanks to Apple's crazy system we need a cable, and a computer as well as an iPhone. Feels like I've gone back to the early 2000s. It's almost enough to make me want an Android.
