I run a 2.35 Forecaster on front and a 2.3 Purgatory in rear for general trail riding in all seasons but winter. Works well dry and wet. I love it on front. Rolls well and still hooks up good.

Finally got 2.4 3c! They are awesome for around my parts, so quick and roll like a dream. I might go 2.6 up front for the chunky rock/roots we have. Really happy with them.

HI bro the question that I will ask may seem a bit silly but I need guidance.
I just bought a very cheap high roller 2 dual compound 2.30 and I'm thinking of buying this forekaster 3c 2.40 since it convinced me more than other tires and I would like to know if I should use the forekaster/high roller 2 combo or better I do another combo.🤔🤔

Interesting that you feel the Forekaster is slower than the Aggressor. According to the Maxxis website, the Forekaster has better rolling speed 🤷‍♂️
Great vid comparison. Thanks for sharing!

I think this is right on.
I replaced a Max terra Dissector with the new Forkaster on the rear and have been pretty happy. Similar rolling resistance and cornering grip. The Dissector has a bit more braking grip but the Forkaster had more climbing grip. Overall I'd give the edge to the Forkaster as an all around trail tire. Running a max grip DHF up front. Conditions are mostly loose over hard.
I'm going to try out a Magic Mary front / Nobby Nick rear over the winter to see if they do a little better at punching through the leaves and pine needles which can be a bit slippery.

How's the tread life on the Forekaster? Dissectors are of course known for their short tread life. I happen to love the Dissector out back with an Assegai up front, but that's on a 151/160 travel bike. The Forekaster does look like it would be a good fast rolling rear for an AM or enduro setup, but only comes in EXO, which is going to die rapidly doing endurobro things. The light weight and Assegai like tread makes it look like it would be a good front tire for a downcountry or grippy XC setup, with an Ardent race or Rekon race out back.

Dude, I can't believe you're sipping on that ag1 garbage... I've been downing a green drink every day for a little over a year now... still have to plug my nose every time. I drink it like a shot as fast as I can. Excited to try the new forkaster... little heavy tho.

Would like to see you test the 2.4 Forekaster front and 2.4 Rekon rear as a Downcountry combo? I've tried 2.4 Dissector front and 2.4 Rekon rear which I hated because the Dissector just won't hold a line---just like you mentioned. My current favorite Downcountry combo is the 2.6 Rekon front and 2.4 Rekon rear.

I do mostly xc so can I use the aggressor 29x 2.5 on the front and forekaster 29x2.4 in the back? what do you thin?

Hey Dustin can you recommend a rear tire for a 30mm rim on a narrow frame? I tried 2.4wt dissector and it just barely clears on 1 side. Just mounted a 2.3 aggressor which only leaves me about 2mm clearance on one side. I may have to go slightly narrower. Thank you for all the valuable information and amazing rides.

I’m thinking of doing forekaster on the rear but can’t decide if I should stick to my front DHR. All blue trails nothing crazy in town. Anything with better rolling speed that might recommend replace the DHR?

Thanks for this, it's the 1st YT video I've seen on it. I'm a Ground Control GRID guy front and back myself, but this would be my 2nd choice if I couldn't find one. The FK1 was nice and lite, but the open tread pattern design just wouldn't live very long for me in my desert riding.

Went from dissector 2.4 rear with assegai 2.5 front, to forekaster 2.4 on the rear . Less rolling speed and more grip, approx same weight . Feels great on enduro/dh

Thanks for your videos. Have you tried the new specialized ground control ? I’m riding the 2.35 grid casing in T7 compound and I find it a very good alternative to the wicked will

I was a fan of the OG Forekaster for a couple reasons. I liked it because of the weight and also the squared knobs were good for hooking up in the climbs.

The new one looks like a winner, seems to have a more aggressive tread pattern than the Aggressor would you say?

Great observations Dustin and I really like the way this tire came out. I currently switched to WTB for this season and run WTB Vigilante front and Trail boss rear. Right when you said it, I was like this reminds me of the Trail boss. I like this direction and I'm gonna have to give this one a go.

How does this compare to the Continental Xynotal on the rear?

thanks for the review . I decided I am going to move my 27.5 over to faster tires and it has Assegai and aggressor on there now . Thinking DHR and aggressor or DHR and forekaster… I also have noticed my assegai stepping out on both my 27.5 and 29 bike
