[Free Excel Tutorial] HOW TO SHOW VALUES AS PERCENTAGES OF IN EXCEL PIVOT TABLES - Full HD

To show percentages such as % of Parent Total, % of Grand Total or % Running Total In in a PivotTable, choose from the Show Values As options.
To show calculations side by side with the values they’re based on (for example, to show the % of Grand Total next to the subtotal), first you need to duplicate the value field by adding it more than once.
nstead of writing your own formulas in calculated fields, you can use Show Values As to quickly present values in different ways. Show Values As is not a new feature but in Excel 2010, it’s much easier to find and use. It also provides several new calculation options, such as % of Parent Total or % Running Total In.
TIP You can use this feature to try different calculations in a value field. However, because you can add the same value fields to a PivotTable more than once, you can also use this feature to show the actual value and other calculations, such as a running total calculation, side by side.

For those who build PivotTables in Excel, basic computations such as summing large volumes of data rarely present challenges. However, when other types of calculations are needed, such as percentages and cumulative percentages, things can become a little more challenging. In this tip, you will learn how to add percentage calculations to your PivotTables as well as how to compute cumulative percentages.

To begin, consider the PivotTable of which Figure 1 shows a portion; this PivotTable sums disbursements by vendor for a fiscal year.
