There's a BIG difference between domestic and international on Air New Zealand. The trans-Pacific flights really are very nice. The domestic flights, on the other hand, are heavily subsidized public transportation.

Greetings from down under (Australia)! You weren't comparing oranges with oranges, Qantas was an international flight, your Air NZ flight was domestic. For a true comparison fly Air NZ say Sydney/Auckland, where you'll have a screen to watch etc, even free WIFI! For the record, even though I'm an Aussie, but much prefer Air NZ compared to Qantas

Comparing an international flight to a domestic and a widebody to a narrow body isn't a fair comparison.

Of course there is no TV because it's a domestic flight, so it's not a fair comparison

The air New Zealand plane was set as a A320D which is in a domestic configuration, but sometimes they swap aircraft and you get IFE and wifi on a domestic flight. Just a heads up

You should have gotten a trans Tasman flight on air New Zealand to have a fair comparison between the two

I can't wait for all the butthurt Boeing fanboys who can't take a joke. Just so you know a multi billion dollar company that builds defective planes DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU :)

Eric these flights weren't rlly comparable because on the Qantas flight it was an A330 and on the New Zealand flight it is an A320.

11:33 - Hey Eric, I'm a flight attendant- just wanted to tell you when we ask for your boarding pass we aren't checking what seat you are in. Instead, we are checking the flight number & date on your boarding pass to ensure it's the correct flight.

12:48 - In most circumstances the planes are not cleaned because it simply takes too long. At the airline I work for we (the flight attendants) just cross seatbelts and collect rubbish, thats it. Even in situations where we actually have a cleaning team, they do the same as us plus stock the lavatories with toiletpaper etc and a very quick vaccum. Tray tables rarely get wiped down so would always recommend passengers never put food directly onto the tray tables or eat off them.

Comparing an a330 to an a320 and comparing a domestic flight to an international is crazy.

I'm from NZ and I've been in that exact lounge you went in, strata lounge. The view from up there into the airport is very good 👍

I’ve been taking air New Zealand and it’s LITERALLY amazing. The people are so nice and the seats were amazing. Soo comfortable. In business there’s plenty legroom and a mini fridge thingy. It just feels overall comfortable. I’ve also been on quanta’s and it’s pretty nice except for that the seats were dirty and the floor was also really dirty?

6:29 "We aren't gonna be crashing like a Boeing" SAVAGE but i have to agree, i can't relate more🤣

i do really enjoy your travel videos, but i'm not sure this is an entirely fair head-to-head comparison... i'd be interested to see you do Air New Zealand from Auckland to Sydney, and then Qantas from Sydney to Auckland.... allows both airlines to showcase their service out of their #1 global hub, as well as controlling for multiple other variables.

As a resident of Brisbane, check out the international terminal. Don’t judge based on the tiny side. And it doesn’t matter if its international or domestic just how long the flight

Thanks for giving hope for my trip in New Zealand to a different country

5:03 You flew an a330 Eric (which is a widebody often used for longer flights), so it wasn’t surprising that it had IFE screens.

13:39 REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR SEATBELT FASTEN KIDS!!!! SEATBELT SAVE LIVES, BUCKLE UP EVERYTIME!!!!

Qantas Flight 126: Airbus A330-202 (Wide-Body, and bigger than the A320.)
Air New Zealand Flight 630: Airbus A320-232 (Narrow-Body, and smaller than the A330.)

Fyi: According to @NonstopDan, turbulence will occur more often if it is a smaller aircraft, but turbulence will occur less often if it is a bigger aircraft. Like the Airbus A380, since the plane is big and heavy, you will miss turbulence often during the flight.
*That doesn't mean that there will be zero turbulence, keep your seatbelt fasten at all times during the flight!
