looks like some lads are gonna be pipping the regulars, no way some of those midfielders and attackers don't get a chance at Qatar. Sainsbury for example, I don't see him earning a spot without some special treatment by his in-law. He's miles behind everyone, I love his commitment to the national team but his poor work rate for club football has finally caught up to him. Aaron Mooy is too slow on his own, passing range and intent is great but he needs actual support to be effective. He should be saved for teams that press high, he's great under pressure and setting tempos, not great against counter attacks. Leckie looks lethargic. Degenek wasn't thrilling and Irvine just isn't working well with Mooy. You can't play Hrustic in CDM and expect that to be the stopgap for a proper defensive mid. He's a creative player who find pockets of space well between the defence and midfield.

I think players that need a look in for Qatar are McGree, Kuol, Mabil, Deng, Metcalfe. Those lads put in a shift and had more than a single brain cell between them. Looked at things with intent... like they had a plan not a reaction to what was in front of them. Ball played quickly not just to pad a stat and wait for the opposition to open the way for them, it looked they were moving themselves and the ball to create space and channels to play in. They were moving the opposition not the just the ball. There's a good team amongst it and I don't believe too many regulars are it rn.

Feel a bit for Tilio, came back better after that, shows character. Kuol made my Sunday arvo, watching, only 18 .Every time he touched that ball something happened good .Something the socceroos really needs 😂, and have lacked.

Not a bad performance, certainly an Improvement from the game in Brisbane, but I cannot stress enough how Kuol needs to be in the starting line up, same with Jason Cummings, but Id put even more emphases on Kuol, he is so composed on the ball and great at the game, a much needed forward for the Socceroos. He did amazing in the Asian cup, no doubt he'd be amazing in the World cup.
