Australia and New Zealand

Two countries in Oceania...more specifically…Australasia. Separated by the Tasman Sea, they’re two well developed countries that often rank really high on nearly every quality of life ranking list and are, uh, pretty awesome. Both seem to be kind of far away from the entire rest of the world, and kind of in their own little world since they’re both so unique.

Which two countries should I compare next?

I must have been tired while making this video, as I misspoke two times in it. My daughter and friend Dan caught them!
At 3:45 I butchered the word "Shire" and at 12:56 I said "720" but I meant to say "1720."

small correction: in new Zealand there is no minimum drinking age, only a purchase age, so with express consent from a parent or guardian a 5 year old could drink

As an Aussie who has moved to NZ, I can confirm that the cost of living is actually a lot higher here in NZ. Housing, food, fuel etc. are all upwards of 50% more here with similar wages being earnt

I’m a Canadian who now lives in the U.S., but for part of my childhood I lived in New Zealand and visited Australia. In my experience there’s a strong similarity between how Canada and New Zealand view themselves in relation to their bigger neighbours. Thanks for this video!

I am a New Zealand Moari, great job man. Entertaining and spot on, the relationship between Kiwi's and Aussies is like a sibling/brother relationship. At each other's throats but, you got their back against everyone else ❤️😁

Australia has much larger scale fires. I live in Auckland and the sky was completely orange/red for a day during the 2019-2020 forest fires. The fires were over 2, 200km away.

Finally, after all these years. We have been noticed. The Entire New Zealand Population praises you for not just making sheep, lord of the rings, and not existing references. Instead choosing to look further into the culture and good parts of New Zealand… like how we’re not Australia

NZ & AUS will always have our sibling bond. We fight, joke and bully each other, but if someone else ever tried to hurt either, the other will ALWAYS be there to back them up. Countries don’t mess with Aussie without NZ defending them. Same as countries messing with NZ and Aussie will be there to defend us too.

The relationship between New Zealand and Australia is like a sibling rivalry

NZ is not only notable for being the first country to grant women's suffrage, but also because it wasn't conditional on race, class, land ownership, or marital status. Many other countries (including Australia) didn't grant full suffrage until many years later.

The cost of living is actually higher in New Zealand. I've lived in both countries and NZ was a fair bit more expensive.

As a Kiwi living in Oz I feel the whole south Pacific region has this chill vibe to it.The people seem more humble and down to earth and we still have this sense of community although in recent years because of social media the American me culture is slowly poisoning our we culture sadly.

I'm Aussie and I'm learning from this. 6:42

Note: Australia's agriculture industry is actually quite large, I feel like it's downplayed a bit in this video.

I'm a Brazilian living in New Zealand and must say I love this country with all my soul! ❤

Minor correction: when you showed pictures of New Zealand's possum, you put a picture of the American opossum, but I learnt a lot even as a Kiwi!

As a New Zealander farmer myself, I must say that the sheep population in New Zealand is slowly going down. This is due to not as much of demand for wool as it use to be, as most of it comes from overseas now. So yeah, just letting you know! :)

As a new Zealander, living in Australia I can tell you NZ has slightly prettier landscapes but I think living in the land of Oz gives you a far greater lifestyle other than that there is very little difference between our 2 great nations

I love when a big youtuber shouts out some more smaller unknown youtubers.

Thanks State of the World for showing me this channel!

Seeing the faster internet being in NZ is super satisfying. In the first decade of broadband, the reverse was true.

I've lived in both countries. The 'no shoes' thing is applicable to both.
