Hey Chaps - hope you like the video! (would be awesome if you could watch until the end!) - Let me know if you give undervolting a go, and if you see much difference! 😉

Another benefit of undervolting is a quieter laptop. Also when paired with re paste of the cpu and gpu, undervolt gives more performance.

Bro, you saved me. I was hesitant to try it earlier bc most tutorials were making it sound very scientific. But you made it simple and straight forward. My G7 is not overheating any more.

Undervolt my lenovo y530 i5 to -0.14 v and repasting, max. temp drop from 93 to 78 c, playing shadow tomb rider on high setting fps increase from 35 to 41 averages. Definitely worth it ! Cant wait to upgrade to dual channel ram

dude, my laptop went from 95-100 degrees celcius while gaming and about 85 degrees while idle, now while gaming it sits at about 75-83 degrees celcius, and 50-65 celcius while idle! you saved my laptop man!

Finding the undervolt sweet spot is quite important. On my Aero 15, I tried so many different undervolt v’s. Could never find a sweet spot that didn’t either blue screen, or stop the laptop from actually charging. Gave up in the end.

You should have mentioned that the undervolt depends on the CPU model that your laptop has. For some the stable undervolt can range between -60mV and -80mV while for others it could go up to -140mV.

Core i7 9750H and the best I could get was -0.120v. No longer having 90º temp spikes :D

Going to give this a try on my GS75 Stealth. Never hurts to bring the temps down a few degrees on ANY computer. Haven't had any performance issues, I just hate seeing temps up in the 80s for any length of time.

If the chip you're driving is a constant power device then dropping the voltage will simply increase the current demand. This will increase the current draw on the battery, reducing lifetime and increasing heat. For many circuits a higher voltage and lower current are desirable.

3:30 that's an unusual face to make when your laptop crashes

XTU is not ideal. It can help you decide by how much you need to undervolt without crashing the system, but I found that the undervolt setting reverts back occasionally. That's why using ThrottleStop and Task Scheduler is the best way to undervolt.

Don't forget to create a simple windows task that launches throttle stop after log-in so you don't have to do it every time you boot up your machine.

Thank you so much, found the sweet spot for my lenovo y740 -.135mV in my case, no thermal and no power throttling, the fans are relatively quiet and the average temp is 71°-72° with peaks of 81°- 83° max

WHY DIDN'T I COME ACROSS THIS VIDEO EARLIER!!! Thanks a lot

Yo I decreased it to -109.46 mv and after this my CPU temps went down to 79°c from 87°c.

And am getting like 10fps more on SOTTR.
THANKS A LOT

Just a small tip. Undervolting is useful for 90% of the CPUs out there, except in the case of low power draw CPUs (like the U series from intel). If you have a U processor, you’re better off just not wasting the time trying to do this. Power wise, they’re already insanely low draw so you really shouldn’t have any heat problems even on the thinnest of laptops, and they’re normally always near their voltage minimums already, so any difference you might gain will be minuscule, while there’s a higher risk for BSoDs and just general instability.

Why to overclock if under volting do the work .. what does actually undervolt do will it damage my cpu and gpu after a long use

Bro when I open the intel XTU and go to core option
I am not able to change the offset voltage it is set to default. The option is disabled
Please help me out I really want to undervolt my
Intel i5 12500H

You just help a lot of people understand
because of this. I already know how to do this but before it was a nightmare .
