By 'China’s backyard' you mean international waters. China might think it owns international waters, but it doesn't

I like how they went from sinking each other's ships to holding a naval exercise

"Peace in the pacific may not be guarranteed"
Funny since the word "Pacific" literally means "Peaceful Sea"

I wouldn't characterize it as China's Backyard but more Japan and the Philipines back yard or side yard.

The real thing is that countries like Japan and the Philippines need to start building up and modernizing their militaries so that they aren't almost entirely reliant on the US for self defense.

There you go calling South China Sea
Again i told you in a lot of videos
*WEST PHILIPPINE SEA*
As if Kalayaan and Panatag Shoal share an Tectonic plate with us an its closer in Philippines than China weve also claim it for an long time.
And "China is in our Backyard"

The CCP’s broad and audacious maritime claims in the South Pacific threaten several sovereign nations including but not limited to the Philippines, Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan, Australia, and Vietnam. The US is not threatening any of these established international boundaries, except to the extent the China CCP feels they are in dispute. I’m okay with China disagreeing if other nations boundaries are respected.

Let's not call it the South China Sea please. I know it technically isn't correct but I'd like to call it the West Philippine Sea just to insult the Chinese.
