I get this question all the time: I've loaded string into the trimmer, but now I can't figure out how to get it to feed out while I'm using it! Here is a quick video that shows you how to use the bump feed head on the Echo SRM 225 to feed more string out during operation.

Finally found the technique after much searching . Much appreciated and thanks for sharing . Been Using my trimmer for 10 years ( shindaiwa F220), and it never occurred to me to bump the head on the grass … I always manually pressed the bump with the motor off to advance the line .

This video is great because as not a very buff woman everytime ive tried to change string I've been utterly exhausted trying to get the spring condensed while turning, and it was as easy as just copying this guys hand placement all along. 😂
