A Realistic Day in the Life of a London Medical Student

Here's an actually realistic day in my life when in hospital. The fact that I ended up spending 11hours there with little to no viable footage made this vlog a real challenge to edit, but at the same time, I thought it would be a true memory of what my days used to look like. The colours in the video tend to be quite inconsistent, that's because I don't add filters to vlogs so that they can be as close to my experience as possible.

I've used SSF* to mean 'similar stock footage' in the video. I cannot of course film inside theatre or around patients and doctors, so I spent (a lot of time) trying to find videos which are as similar as possible to show what the experience would look like!

It was so tempting to show footage of eye surgery, but after the feedback from my injection vlog... I managed to resist.

The thumbnail is not taken from hospital! It's from my home (sorry, ironically, that part isn't therefore as realistic).

I admire how hard you work. Can’t really imagine how you find time for everything. For me, between studying, working, spending time with girlfriend/family and still having some leisure time while sleeping 8 hours everyday seems impossible. But you do you, maybe I should start taking some notes of how you handle things!

Leaving your room to get work done is so relatable. Over the years I've built the habit to do all of my work at the library and none of it in my apartment. I could literally drink 3 cups of coffee and still fall asleep if I come home late and try do get some work done. Unfortunately, this habit has led to a massive drop in productivity since the Covid outbreak (libraries are closed or have shorter opening hours) :/
