My friend who is a Amazon developer said that most of the work they do is software design and documentation. The coding/programming are the jobs that takes the least amount of their time cause they have to either patch or add/extend a feature as the product has already been built.

I used to cook for LinkedIn employees from 2017 when the kitchen opened to 2019. Good times! I also see that they have tvs now and you cant serve yourself. Now I'm a data analyst working at walmart. I see you also have jira tickets that's cool! We have meetings everyday except Friday.

Marcos amazing video seriously I can't thank you enough for such a high-quality video! As a young 21-year-old also living in NYC and looking for the next step in my life, this video gave me a valuable idea of what getting into this field may look like in the city. I have decided to pick up learning the fundamentals to learn the front end and hopefully eventually back end. I know coding is not easy, let alone that I'm currently a self-learner but when I see videos like these it gives me the motivation I need to keep learning. If I may ask, is there any advice you would give to someone like myself who wants to take this career path seriously or any resources/practice you would recommend someone in my boat should look into? LinkedIn seems so RELAXED compared to Meta. Most of the time I do not have time to go to the gym because we are working overtime to finish deadlines unless we get managed out during PSC. Only very lucky meta software engineers get to have similar work life balance and have enough time to sit and talk with friends on couches or take naps.

Funny enough, I use Apache Felix every day as an engineer haha. I know you said you work on Apache Helix, but I work in the OSGi framework for enterprise software. Also, this is definitely a very realistic Software Engineer day haha. Pretty much the exact same as mine minus New York. We even have Ping Pong breaks as well lol. Sometimes we also do a little office golf, basketball, or Super Smashbros as well haha.
