Fizzies, which once effervesced in the glasses of 1960s children, creating instant soda, have largely fizzled out, usurped by an array of modern beverages and shifting consumer preferences. The gentle, reassuring presence of Mister Rogers, who navigated the neighborhoods of our childhood television sets, has departed, leaving behind a rich legacy of kindness, understanding, and gentle wisdom. Celery-flavored Jell-O, once a wobbly resident on the dinner tables of experimental 1960s households, has been relegated to the annals of culinary history, its savory quiver no longer aligning with contemporary palates. The rhythmic beats and swaying bodies of American Bandstand have faded into nostalgic memories, as new platforms and mediums have emerged to showcase musical talent and influence dance trends. Bikes adorned with banana seats, once the steeds of young, adventurous spirits, have been overtaken by varied modern designs, catering to evolving tastes and cycling needs.

The footprints left on the moon by Apollo astronauts remain, though regular manned lunar missions have not graced its surface in decades. Floppy disk drives, once guardians of digital data, have been usurped by more capacious and convenient forms of data storage and transfer. The sweet, floral notes of flower-flavored PEZ candies have been supplanted by a spectrum of alternative flavors, and the Flatsy doll, once a cherished companion of children, now primarily inhabits the realm of collectors and nostalgic adults. These artifacts, once embedded in the daily lives and cultural tapestry of 1960s America, now dwell predominantly in memories and museums, having been eclipsed by the relentless march of time, technology, and taste. I saw the movie Jaws at the 101 Drive-In in Ventura, CA. We were only about a block or 2 from the beach, so the ocean air with its sea scents and cool ocean breeze really added to the atmosphere of the movie, making it feel like you were actually in the ocean with the shark.

Yes I do, maybe you could help me find out about another little doll that I used to have in the 70’s .Her little body was an inch or two tall /with hair as long as her body .She fit inside a bubble necklace.I would get in so much trouble for sneaking this little precious to school around my neck to play with at recess…but she was so worth it. She made me happy and I didn’t have to miss my Mom so much.😊

I remember them all fondly. Except for the Flat Doll. I don’t know if it was even sold in Massachusetts. I worked every Christmas at a Massachusetts chain At Christmas time IN the Toy and Trim A Tree Dept.

If you ever used a rotary phone, you know how much time has been saved by not using it any longer. There was a demo showing 2 people having a contest to see the difference between the rotary & the push button. The person using the push button finished and the rotary person got 1 number dialed.
