Aren't we lucky to be alive and present at the same time and on the same planet as Neil Young?

I just turned 70 years old in October and always remember the 1st time I heard Neil Young on the radio playing Sugar Mountain and went out and bought “ Everyone Knows This Is Nowhere “. It was the only album that he had out other than his Buffalo Springfield work. Still listening to Neil today 12-22-24.

I am 2 years younger than Neil Young. He has always been an inspiration to me as someone who continues doing what he does best and doing it his way. My goal is to keep getting better at teaching math and coaching baseball as long as possible. Thank you so much, Uncle Neil.

I'm 63 and been a fan since high school. And though we never met, Neil and I used to be friendly nemesis' back in 1979. How is that? you might ask...

I lived in San Carlos, CA back then. Not far from Woodside where Neil lived. Back in those days video tape rentals were a very new thing and the only place at the time to rent them was Heimerhaus Electronics on El Camino. The selection was minimal and I gravitated to rock music tapes. So did Neil. And according to the girl who worked there, he and I were the main customers for those concert/music videos and he would get annoyed when I would take out a video he wanted,

The shop girl would say "Neil is pissed. He said he really wanted Gimme Shelter and Song Remains the same and you took both of them!"

She made it clear that it was all good-natured. I thought it was super cool. I Took out Live Rust one time and when I returned it she said "Neil said to thank you for renting his concert movie and hoped you liked it." I of course told her to tell him "Hell yes I did!"

This went on for a few months as I recall. Fond memories...
Best Regards,

Having lived through the sixties and now being in my seventies, I appreciate all of the music Neil has created and performed over all these years. We are all on the same journey one way or the other. Thanks for all you have given to the world.

Neil, I've been listening to you for 51 years now, and your music is in my soul. I was fortunate to see you from afar in 2016 at Desert Trip with Promise of the Real, but, seeing you in April 2024 with Crazy Horse at the SDSU amphitheater ... incredible! Your beautiful acoustic set at the end brought me to tears. That's the "real Neil" I've wanted to hear live since 1973. Thank you <3

What a wonderful gift in these gray cold days without light. We can warm ourselves imaginarily by the fire that still burns in you and enlightens and warms my mind and soul. You have been with me since 1969 when I bought your album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere. So simple. So ordinary and yet so wonderful. That outdoor life and nature does you good and me too. Great idea to treat the urban like this. As Joni sung: "We are golden. Caught in the devil's bargain. And we've got to get ourselves back to the garden".

I went away to high school in 1970 at age 14 and you went with me on that, my first extended time away from home. I have listened to, and enjoyed, your thoughtful songs and music ever since. Thank you from a 67-year friend from afar, Neil.
