Discovered a dead alligator while kayak fishing

Thought I saw a log at the shore but as I got closer I noticed it was a huge alligator that was dead. Getting that close still was a little creepy #shorts

It's not albino, it's been dead a couple days, bloated and that's why it's floating. There can be a couple reasons why it's lighter colored but it has some pigment. Creepy as hell for anyone not familiar with them around.

Me and my husband used to commercial fish we ran boxes and hoop nets along with jugs, regular rods etc ... We spent most of our 1st 8 years together on the river .. only twice did we find dead gators like this . 1 time you could dee the markings where a tug boat prop got him in his stomach area and was a major gash and the 2nd wasn't physically harmed anywhere but it was a solid 20+ foot as our boat was 18 and it was several feet longer! Any other ones we ever saw was from humans themselves dealing with it. We had 2 end up in our nets when the river got higher than usual and 1 we got a call from over 10 miles where it was sank and they said "just wanted you to know your hoop net is snagged it the trees at such and such area and theres a 6 foot gator sun bathing and eating all your fish in it "😂 we wasnt even mad. My husband just went ahead and split opena hole big enough for it to get out and we threw all the dead fish in a pile and took it and left. Circled back and gator was happy af death rolling over the 50lbs of fish 😂 easiest food its ever stock piled

I think someone probably knew or loved someone else who was taken by an alligator so they venged their loss.
