If you have truble with unwraping try the following.
Instead of pressing U, press alt+n and select "set from faces".
Now some blue lines should apear on your model.
Press alt+n again and select "merge".
After this your model should unwrap nicely.

For those who don't have a numpad -> go to preferences -> input -> and check the top box that says "emulate numpad" now your top number keys can be used for those shortcuts :D

"For begginers" Proceeds to explain things far better than anyone else. You blew my mind! Awesome tutorial

18:58 for newer Blender version (Feb 2024), color picker is shift+x somehow.
You can change it to S by Edit>Preferences>Keymap>3d View>Image Paint>Sample Color. Click it, change to S

My first model a while back was an Animal Crossing character and I couldn't find any tutorials for the sort of thing I wanted to make at the time so I just kind of winged it. This would have saved me so much time! I would love to see a rigging tutorial, I found it so hard to translate the generic rigging tutorials I found to a character like this.

“It’s gonna pretend to be subdivided twice” is such a great sentence

Im an early beginner, when I heard you say "were going to move some vertices to fix the topology" I was like "pfffftt, I dont have to do that, shes being extra", Halfway through the modeling of the arms I realized I was severely wrong and i had to start over, you taught me a powerful lesson about having beautiful topology. Thank you so much!!

This is one of the best blender tutorials I've ever come across! I cannot believe it's only half an hour and you show us how to model the froggo, uv map, paint, and set the scene! I've never gotten as far as texture painting before, and I'm over the moon with how the little frog came out! Thank you so much for sharing

This has to be the best blender tutorial there is, not only did it teach me how to make a froggy, it also taught me some basic blender skills!

Lovely video Mar! :D
Think a lot of people will learn some great stuff from this!

In Color Management you should try and set the "filmic" to "Standard" that way you get the same colors as on your texture, not sure why Filmic is standart it seem to watch out all the colors

9:50 change mesh color in viewport

Notes:
Preview model on separate window -> Material Preview + disable Toggle Overlay
Use round cube instead of UV sphere to avoid triangles
Modifier Mirror -> turn on Clipping
Image texture interpolation from Linear -> Closest to make the texture sharper
Save the texture, please

Shortcuts:
Double G - move vertex without changing the mesh shape
Ctrl+R - insert edge loop
Ctrl+E - mark seam
/ - local view
F12 - render

I don't know why I haven't found your channel sooner! I'm new to Blender and always wanted to model cute characters. Your tutorials are lovely and easy to follow

Great video! However from UV mapping and onward it gets confusing. She went from explaining everything well to fast forwarding parts that as a beginner I wouldn't know. Also I wish there was an indication of when she clicks on something, like in 15:19 I have no idea how the colorful map appeared and I can't figure it out, its a little frustrating for me, hopefully I can get to the end of this tutorial.
