Just get the 6300 and put the extra 400 towards a gimbal

Just get Sony a6300 with kit lens, and spend the rest for buying another lenses or essential gears.

I was always feeling guilty for choosing the A6300 over the A6500, but this video helped me calm that cognitive dissonance, thanks a lot!

In my country, A6300 body is $1400 and A6300 body is $1900 and i bought the ZhiYun Crane for $800. I shoot both photos and video and there is where the A6300 is lacking, the buffer is crap. IBIS is for micro shake and if you look at 2:05 and see the difference, the shake for A6300 is more difficult to solve in post processing. If your a causal shooter = RX100, do photos and videos = A6500, vlogging = GH5, no vlogging but filming = A6300

I just upgraded last week to the A6500. I had an A6300, 35mm OSS and 16-50mm Kit OSS; and I loved that kit.

Then, I got the A6500 and the Zeiss 24mm and Samyang 12mm (both non-OSS lenses). So, obviously, the A6500's IBIS is needed for those lenses

I actually had (and loved) the Zeiss 24mm before...but the hand-held footage with the A6300 was completely unusable with zero stabilization. I just love 35mm equivalent FOV. Main reason I got the A6500. Such a classic FOV and reminds me of my all time fave stills camera and lens - the RX1 and also the Canon 35L.

on another channel it was said that A6500 has higher shutter count, bigger buffer, even better auto focus.. there's also touch-to-focus, which A6300 can't do.. there are also some ergonomic differences.. if I sold my A6300 body it would cost me another $300-350 for the A6500. Could get another lens or go a long way in paying for a gimbal for that extra cheddar. The IBIS in the A6500 would help with non-Sony lenses w/o OSS, and you have the advantage of some stabilization w/o lugging a gimbal around. On the other hand, the gimbal plus A6300 may make for smoother video than the A6500 IBIS alone. Decisions, decisions..

I see with color and stabilization in the A6500 is much better to me

Thinking about getting the sony a6300 and spend the extra 500$ on the sigma 16mm f1.4 instead of buying the a6500

The stabilization is not going to benefit you unless you use non stabilized lenses e.g. Manual lenses, non OSS lenses, and adapting canon lenses to it, that's really the only reason they included it. Most Sony native E lenses already have OSS and considering you will not get many lenses I assume, no need for the a6500. The touch screen is limited, which is a letdown. It doesn't justify $400+.

I notice a lot less jitter on the a6500. Still Shakey, but the shake is smoother. I like it better, but not $400 better

Thank you for your review on the a6500. I've been thinking about getting the camera for a while now. Great video.

Might as well just use the A6300 and get a good lens with it instead of the A6500.

Color is better on the a6500 in your videos. a6300 looks grey and not real flesh tones. I might pick this camera up this week or next. Was looking at GH5 but AF is terrible on it. Go with the a6500. It's not a waste to have a better camera when we make money from them. First time that a6300 overheard when outside recording 4k and you miss a great shot with the family you will be upset. Or doing extra work in post to get the best color.
