A6500 user for more than a year. Love its pack of features, light weight and agility. Very versatile be it travel cam or event/gig use. But it is now showing signs of hardware and software erratic issues. Time will tell if this can stand past 3 years usage as ive owned sony cams in the past and they tend to breakdown after a bit of time.

Just got me an A7SII after buying an a6300 when it came out and thinking the A7SII was amazing...finally got my dream camera! and you know what? a6300 is going to stay in the family for sure! I can't shoot high speed stuff like hockey games and I can't sneak an A7SII body like I can with an a6300!

My a6300 also has APS-C only glass and one of those lenses is my 30mm macro and for macro I want 24MP's for sure. My A7SII can shoot under moonlight and catch the stars at night which is something my a6300 can only dream of.

I agree, you can pretty much create the same things with the a6300/6500. The reason for the a7sii is to command respect from other Filmmakers. Every time I have a wedding video shoot I look at the photographers gear and I judge them depending on the type of camera they have. I guess a nicer camera body is a signal of experience.

I wanted to buy the lumix g7 but i see the a6300 more cinematic, i want a camera for videography and some times record like 1 hour continuos in 1080p, the reason i can't decide is because of overheating.

so true... got my 1st a6500 last yr... ..damn..i ended up buying another  a6500... and sold my 5d mark 3  bodies  now im aiming to get a7r III for my main camera to replace my 5ds coz i shoot photo and video.... flexibility wise i can use my dx lenses in super 35 mode for video shooting... done waiting for so long in canon :)

Found a Sony a7Rii for $690 Body Only a6300 for $700 or a6500 for $1100 can’t make a decision

Keep this Film setup and add some orange lighting. Already looks amazing but might add to it. Great video I love the a7s ii but the GH4 does wonders if you know how to use it.
