I am a grown adult working as an engineer :) I had completely forgotten how we get the area of a triangle to be 1/2bh. The formula has stuck in my mind through the years, but not the intuition of how to get to it. :) Never too old to re-learn stuff.

I always thought it was easier to find the area of a triangle by just fitting 2 rectangles into a square= easier.
Edit: granted, this works only for right triangles.
