God of War Ragnarök is an action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released worldwide on November 9, 2022, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, marking the first cross-gen release in the God of War series.

Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game is set in ancient Scandinavia and feature series protagonist Kratos and his teenage son Atreus. Fact that RDR2 and TLoU2 aren’t Ps5 games still looks ten times better than what other games have on ps4 that has open world. HFW has definitely most detail graphics open world by far.

RDR2 is a technical marvel. For a game to run that well and look that good when it was made for PS4/Xbox One is insane. The render distance is impressive as well and there's zero problems with unrendered textures or parts of the map popping up out of nowhere because they rendered late. They even managed clear visuals from distance instead of doing the whole "fog off the distance to hide unrendered buildings" thing that a lot of devs do. I remember playing on my base PS4 when it first came out and you could see the buildings in Blackwater from the Clemens Point camp.

It's not just the graphics that set Ragnarok apart. It has some of the best animations I've seen. Especially for large on screen enemies. It takes after Spiderman in that regard. Sony is definately setting the bar this generation with their exclusive games. It's probably just more noticeable since other Triple A titles have been disapointing this generation.
