GOW Thor's Reveal Scene Changed From 2018 to 2022 God of War Ragnarok Side by Side Comparison

God of War Ragnarök is an action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game will be set in ancient Scandinavia and feature series protagonist Kratos and his teenage son Atreus. Serving as the finale to the Norse era of the series, the game will cover Ragnarök, the eschatological event which is central to Norse mythology and was foretold to happen in the previous game after Kratos killed the Æsir god Baldur.

I like all three perceptions of thor's personality transition, first feeling like a psycho god with a cold heart, envisioned in armor and white eyes. Secondly, feeling more like a sociopath, revealing his lack of self-care but being capable of manners, which he then breaks down to see how he can push people to the limits of his abilities (example: first fight with Kratos). And finally reveal that he is actually none of the above, more than a person manipulated and despised by his father but tries to ensure the good of his family.

Personally I like the design of rag better but i think the effects of the lightning were toned down too much, should’ve had more lightning crackling around the hammer

Dream Thor and Reality Thor is so interesting. I like to believe the 2018 Thor’s look is what he looked like three years before Ragnarok and when he lost his sons and had a huge guilt, he let himself go and became unkempt. If or when we get Ragnarok for the PC, I would like to see a mod of Thor appearing like he did in the 2018 one.

2018's Thor was the original Thor from Santa Monica who came to kill Kratos for what happened to his children. I'd say the original God of War Ragnarok script started like this with Thor arriving and quickly attacking Kratos. Kratos starting a battle perhaps the same as Ragnarok or perhaps very different from what Santa Monica thought in 2018. Everything seems to indicate that the original script was changed and it can be seen in how they brought Thor throughout God of War Ragnarok, a type charismatic and super strong but in its 2018 version it looks imposing, with an attitude of wanting revenge and killing you quickly with a very impressive physique and a fantastic design.

Differences between 2018 and 2022 are very seen
2018 had more clothes
2022 had belly and muscles outside
Also 2022 Mjolnir looks more detailed
I think 2018 is like a Test and spoiler for 2022

2018 Thor is also taller as its merely a modified version of Magnis model whose character model was measured at 7'11

Ragnarok Thor looks more like 7'5-7'7 which is because he is 1/2 Giant whereas Magni was 3/4 Giant

Y'know, I prefer the 2018 design. No issue with Thor being fat, but I'd want him to wear armor.

Thing is his old version would've been just fine but in Ragnarok hes built like Shrek while his 2018 looks like his muscularity takes up more than his fat but still got that clothes they really wanted 2022 Thor to let it hang out 💀

I liked how Thor was already implied to have a very imposing physique since 2018 and now the difference in his model is that he's topless in Ragnarok
