At the University of Cambridge students will experience three different parts of the University: the University itself, their department, and their College. The University awards degrees and manages all central issues, including providing student services like financial support, counselling, and careers advice. The Department manages the specific subject, such as Law, or Engineering. Teaching is provided by the department, including lectures, supervisions, and exams. The College is where students live, and is responsible for pastoral care of students. Students will eat, sleep, and socialise in their Colleges. Students can use the University Library, Department Library, and College Library, and may want to join societies or play sports for the University or their College too.

Every Wednesday we'll be releasing another video answering key questions about the University of Cambridge admissions process. Next week's video will be about how to choose a College.
