Update
He is now on the Aberdeen Iron Birds of the Orioles class A at 25 Yrs. He has a sub 2 era in 12 innings, however is on the 7 day IL right now

Awesome stuff. I’ve been working on training my shoulder rotation and adding more rotational velocity to my delivery. Perhaps I’m wrong here, but it seems like Nick here is rotating his shoulders a lot more aggressively in the second clips than the first clip. Is that the case? Your guys vids are killer btw, I’ve learned so much

Update: He's now in AA with an ERA of 3 through 15 innings pitched, I think as a reliever.

What muscles are mainly needed in the upper body?

Frickin crazy that even throwing 97 wont be a guarantee to get you in the MLB anymore.

I followed this channel for quite a while and have always just been a tad bit confused about arm spiral. I think I finally understand it but not a hundred percent sure. I think I feel it in the figure 8 drill but I’ve never quite translated it to what happens the split second before layback. I’ll try and describe.

I feel the layback better when I think QB. The ball and hand move backward with either a bent or somewhat straight arm but prior to, let’s say heel foot strike, the ball and hand better be headed up into that 45 to 90 degree angle and almost simultaneously, right after that, the hand/ball come forward towards the back of the head just a bit, then unwind as the front foot plants moments before. It creates a lasso effect and layback. Maybe I’m off here. I don’t know. I watch a ton of videos because I’m a mechanics nerd. My minor was in kinesiology. I do know my 15 year old was and is throwing the sweeper pretty damn nasty. Thought he was special 😂😂😂😂 until this past year where everyone has now added the sweeper. His still breaks more horizontally and vertically than most but meh… on to the next pitch. A few of my kids throw a nasty curve as well.

Also, no! I didn’t play and I sure as hell didn’t pitch but I did play basketball and teach shooting mechanics. So I know a little bit. Baseball is a wonderful sport on both sides of the plate. Boys don’t chew me up too much. Just bouncing ideas off these great teachers. Tread athletics is special. I don’t know if it’s related but I have noticed how the speed has jumped up with the growth of this channel. Just because they don’t study with you doesn’t mean they don’t listen! Best wishes for all these athletes.

Would you ditch a Cb if it leads to a pushy arm action and higher release ??or is that caused by other things

Too much credit being given to his mechanics. I’m sure he had to have been training big with weights
