I love how you teach “regular” makeup tips - I remember doing many of these simple techniques years and years ago, when we had few products available and I was young and experimented combining only a few cheaper makeup products -then I forgot it all, my face changed grew wise ;), and YouTube came up with such beautiful yet complicated looks - but you help me remember … ah yes, I could just simply do little things and makeup will look pretty

I desperately need primer on my mega oily lids. I usually ditch shadow on most days and fake it with my pigmented eyelids but for eyeshadow days, the NARS one is the one I reach for. Also like the Smashbox one.

Can you use that NARS eye primer with cream & stick eyeshadows as well?

Great to see these 2 options. I don't have oil issues but often see transfer at the end of a long day. I'll definitely try both with attention to these details. Great tip about mixing that dark and light color on the pinky: Better for avoiding fallout & getting more use of the shadows! Merci Cheri!❤🌺🔥🙏

Wow, this is really helpful! I have seen primers and thought they were mostly to hold foundation on or add moisture. But too much for my oily skin, until younger makeup ladies with oily lids refused to put up with their lids eating the shadow in a few hours. One reason I have traditionally liked Chanel shadows so much is the finer pigments and finer shimmers look better fading off oily lids, they look even and just dewy instead of patchy. I have been trying the MAC paint pot as a primer, not sure if it is too pasty thick or not.

This was great, Cheri! The issue of using an eye primer is something that I have been confused about. FYI, I'm 70, I have the Nars primer, and I can see that when I 've used it, I have used more than is necessary. Another concern has been whether it is necessary to apply some kind of powder on top of the primer, and then apply eyeshadow. I have seen this technique in so many YouTube videos. From your video, I see that it is not necessary. I also like the alternative method that you showed - using a setting powder without the primer. One benefit of a primer though, is that it also helps the longevity of an eyeliner pencil. Is that the case if I just use powder as a primer? Of course, to reinforce my eyeliner, I know that I could go over it with some eyeshadow. Anyway, this video was so helpful - it really simplified things for me. In both scenarios you demonstrated what to do with eyeshadow application, after you primed your lids. Excellent! I always look forward to your content. Thanks :)

I can't believe you didn't mention #Lancome La Base Pro. I can't imagine my life without it (yes it has silicone) but it's literally dual-purpose skincare. It's great for people with normal/dry textured skin. I love the silky feel and how my foundation looks unbelievably soft and blurred afterward. It is my staple. Don't think I will ever switch up. Ty for the review. XO

You just too young. I have dry lids and face and now need to use primers for my face. Can’t use powder anymore
