I love working on steam boilers. Worked on some big ones when i lived in Buffalo. Cold temps and there is still a decent amount of industrial sites. Biggest boiler i ever worked on was steam. It had a 75k lb per hr rating.

I have a question. In performing an energy balance using saturated steam as the heat source, if I aim to use the same amount of energy with the same heater but lower the steam pressure (resulting in a lower steam temperature), the latent heat will increase, and the mass of saturated steam consumed will decrease accordingly. Could you confirm whether these calculations are correct? Additionally, in practical application, would it be expected that as the steam pressure decreases, the amount of steam required would also decrease, as indicated by the calculations?

As i have been installing low pressure steam boilers for years now .
Going to say its the best heat for any home .
And i can still run a hot water loop through the bottom of the water line for DHW, or hydronic zone 😮
