If you're anything like me then you're the type of annoying person like likes to correct people when they misidentify animals. Of course there is nothing wrong with misidentifying an animal but in today's video i will be trying to solve this important issue. In today's video i will be going through 14 animals that look very similar to one another and i will be pointing out the ways in which you can tell them apart. Hopefully this video will help as i will be going through 14 animals that look very similar to one another.

A more consistent way to differentiate alligatorids from crocodiles are the teeth: all alligators and caiman's top jaw teeth are the only teeth that show when the mouth is closed, whereas for crocodiles and gharials, both sets of teeth interlock.

I have some news about the Sumatran rhino; it turns out that in some areas, almost the entire population is gone. The few populations left are in the northern tip of Sumatra. There is one Borneo ( Sumatran ) rhino left, a female, but the conservationists are trying their best to capture it. All Sumatran rhinos are in Sumatra and Borneo as we speak. I was on an internship in a zoo.

Fantastic video, would love to see more exploring similar looking species and telling them apart.

In Poland we don't even have a specific word to differ turtles and turtoises. We call both of them "żółw", only with adding another word to describe their habitat (land or water). It's similar with apes, we don't have a separate word, we say "małpa" for both monkey and ape, sometimes calling an ape "małpa człekokształtna" which means something like "human-shaped monkey".

What about butterflies and moths, frogs and toads and pangolins and armadillos?

to add for the Turtle/ Tortoise identifying, looking at the feet is a great tell. turtles will have webbed feet for swimming while tortoises will have hard feet for stomping.

One pair of birds that most commenters haven't mention of being commonly confused is Crows and Ravens. In addition, I also heard some people mistake grackles for crows aswell.

Golden jackals and African wolves. They've been proven to be separate species since 2015, yet I'm still seeing footage of African wolves when talking about golden jackals.

Jaguars will also have rosettes with spots in the middle, Leopards do not

Crocodile: "I'm the biggest reptile alive!"

Alligator: "Haha... Okay, enjoy your victory, buddy!"

Caiman: "Notice me, Senpai!"

Gazelles and Impala.
Rats and Mice.
Hares and Rabbits (or all called bunnies, when they're baby rabbits)
Hawks and (non-Peregrine) Falcons.
Shrimp and Crayfish.
Llamas and Alpacas.
Bison and Buffalo (names used interchangeably but not synonymous).

Sometimes, like Clint's Reptiles says, it helps to ask yourself the age-old question: Are you in Madagascar?
Or, more generally: Where are you/where is the photograph or the animal from? For example, if the photo is known to be from South America, it can only be Panthera onca, i.e. the Jaguar.

Snakes and legless lizards are often confused.
Of course, snakes have smaller scales on the back and larger scales on the belly, and don't possess movable eyelids or ear holes.
Legless lizards have uniform sized scales around their bodies, possess movable eyelids and ear holes, and some also have vestigial limbs (often appearing like an overly large scale)

You could make a video every day on just the fish species that are almost identical to one another.

Me: listening to what to look for
Narrator: “and now that you know what to look for, they’re quite easy to tell apart”
Me: they’re the same picture

Here's another one that annoys me the most: People not knowing the difference between cellar spiders, harvestmen and crane flies.
