Windows 11 taskbar (21H2): Move to top, left, right, or bottom | 2022

As you all must be aware that Windows has made it difficult in the new Win 11 to change the taskbar. Unlike, Windows 10 it is not possible to move the taskbar in any direction except at the bottom. Anyway, in this video, we will guide you on how you can move the Windows 11 taskbar to all directions i.e. Top, left, right, and as well restore at the bottom. But please note that, on our several tries, moving the taskbar to left or right always had some issues - which makes us think that Windows 11 isn't compatible to move the taskbar on left or right.

To move the Windows taskbar to Windows 11, you will need to make some changes to the registry. We hope this video tutorial will be helpful for you to change the position of the taskbar on Windows 11.

The inability to put the task bar on the left is the single reason I've stayed with Windows 10. Putting the taskbar on the bottom of the screen is an artifact from the 4:3 monitor era. Most monitors are 16:9 or 21:9 now....the left side is the best place for the task bar and I can't be convinced otherwise.

Believe it or not, Microsoft is now silencing all feedback regarding moving the W11 taskbar to the top edge of the screen. There were about 30k upvotes to move the taskbar... now ALL reference to moving the taskbar (including all of my previous feedback regarding this) have now been deleted by Microsoft. Perhaps it's time to call the lawyers. The inability to move the taskbar is causing some people physical harm due to eye conditions. So much for "Microsoft Accessibility".

Of course, the moment Microsoft saw you could do this hack, they made editing the registry impossible.

It doesn't work anymore. Whenever I restart the file manager, the 01 changes automatically to 03, and taskbar doesn't move :/
How to solve this?

Tried it on w11 - 22H2 Update, does not work anymore and the registry editor goes back to the defaults

I have done this several times now, both by restarting windows from task manager as well as restarting my pc and each time it resets the value in registry back to 03. Is there any reason this will be happening?

Also just want to say how fucking stupid it is that they did not make this an actual feature despite the feedback clearly stating people wanted it. I guess Microsoft figured anything under 100% isn't worth it...

Thanks to you for proving this video. I'm very grateful. I wonder why Microsoft or somebody else hasn't created a batch file to make this change. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a 30 plus year habit of using a taskbar at the bottom of the screen. It's maddening that Microsoft makes changes to conventions that people have used for decades. I hate the changes they've made to Office products for instance. But I'm ranting. I really want to rave about the time and effort you expended to produce this video for people like me. No doubt you've helped many, even if they don't take the time to thank you. Cheers!

My fe value is not saving. It's coming back to same 03 position and taskbar still on same place. I restarted both ways

putting the taskbar on top is one thing, but how do i stop all apps to start behind the taskbar? the top of the apps is always bind the task bar because the app still starts at the top of the screen

Thanks for this. It is so much better to have the TB on the left. I am sick of microsoft products and my next purchase is going to be a MAC. Every update is basically retraining yourself on how to use a PC.
