This is a bit different than my normal videos, what do you think of the more entertaining/reaction format?

A thing I found ( more funny than annoying ) is when you try to attack endermans. They just try to teleport around and they get too far and lose aggro. Also some other changes are like boats don't cancel fall damage but you are completely fine on a horse. Trying to do a water mlg is also way more harder, small berry bushes don't slow you and you can run while having frost walker as in java you can only walk for it to activate. Redstone is different, piglins can't reach gold easely. They think like if they can't physically get there, they can't pick it up. The hunger is scuffed. It runs out like 10x faster when you run, but never when you want to eat to regenerate. Theres no saturation heal like when you eat a steak in java. Ghasts are really laggy when trying to shot. Skeletons are pretty much aimbots. Reflecting projectiles works even with llamas spit. Impailing works for any mob that's in water. Soul speed is really weird. Thans all that I can think right now

FYI, the Bedrock Wither used to be even more OP, as the wither effect used to go through armor and protection (so you can't outheal it without at least regeneration 2). This got changed in a recent update to how Bedrock armor works.

As a person who’s played Bedrock for years, this was very entertaining to watch.

The first thing I noticed when I started playing Bedrock is that saturation doesn't burst heal you. A golden Carrot will still boost your saturation way up, but that doesn't actually heal you the same way it does in Java.

In Java, when your hunger is full, Saturation is rapidly consumed to rapidly restore hearts.

In Bedrock, Saturation is gradually depleted as you passively regenerate health, sprint, jump, etc. It functions merely to delay how often you need to eat.

It's also important to note that the console versions of bedrock are slightly different from one another. No version is really the exact same but are modified to uniquely fit that specific version of the game.

i really enjoyed this video. rather than blabbering on about how java is so much better; like most players would. you took and unbiased look at the differences and even seemed open to trying more of bedrock. I wish more players would have this mindset when going into java vs bedrock instead of verbally attacking anyone who doesnt think their preffered version is superior. As someone who plays both for a multitude of reasons this is a breath of fresh air. Great Video!

I didn't know you couldn't waterlog doors in Bedrock, so I drowned on my first day.

I watched hundreds of MC videos but your channel is by far my favorite. Your calm voice and clear explanation is a refreshing take, opposite of those hyper-energetic, borderline psycho youtubers that sounds like they are on Speed.

Just some things to know about bedrock edition:

Since combat is different in Bedrock Edition axes are weaker than swords but still able to disable shields, also to raise your shield you have to crouch (This actually became better in 1.19 with the new swift sneek enchantment)

There are no Spectral arrows in Bedrock Edition but there are arrows of decay which you can only get by trading with a Fletcher (Wither Effect)

The Impaling enchantment is very overpowered, it can affect any mobs that are in water or standing in the rain, level 5 impaling is a lot more powerful than a Sharpness V Netherite sword

Trading is different in Bedrock Edition, for example Armorers will only sell 2 pieces of diamond armor instead of a full set like I've seen in Java edition, an farmers will only buy one type of crop from you in bedrock edition

Health regeneration is slower in Bedrock Edition, and hunger used to drain very quickly but luckily this was fixed

Hopefully we see more parity between both versions in the future.

The player doll at the corner can come useful in very Hardcore-friendly ways(which makes it kind of a should-have for java). It appears when you crouch, or sprint. You can see if your elytra is equipped or not while jumping off, and since bedrock allows you to switch gear pieces from the hotbar instantly, you can quickly switch over to one if you have a chestplate equipped.
Also, bedrock's bridging mechanics are drastically different.

As a longtime Java player who now plays both quite frequently, playing Bedrock felt like the uncanny valley at first.

I switched to bedrock a few years ago after playing java for like 6/7 years because one day my java version just started preforming very poorly in terms of frame rates and has remained like that for years but i find bedrock runs so smooth and you can have a way better render distance. Also i think minecraft is a game that only improves with multiplayer so being able to play with any of my friends regardless of platform is very nice.

As a player who switched to java 6 months ago its funny seeing your reaction because i know how things are in bedrock and java so i can just kinda look at both sides and compare

The only reason I have the paper doll in the corner is that it stays there when you crouch, and sometimes I don’t realize that I’m crouching/not crouching, so it’s a nice little way to tell if I’m crouching

The wither is now actually much easier than it was previously.

A few months ago armour and protection were tweaked to match Java which made armour much worse and protection worse and better at the same time, it protected less but now protects against poison and wither.

Previously the wither on hard mode would inflict wither 2 for 40 seconds which was a death sentence without totems or milk even with the best armour and enchants in the game.

That paper doll in the corner of character is for seeing your armour and shield while pvp

I found it so funny when you realized that you can't put torches in your offhand. I'm a mainly bedrock player but I've been playing java a lot more recently. For me, it's less of "what's different" and more of "what's missing from this version"
Bedrock feels a little simple and slowed down, with java it seems more endless and complex and things can happen so fast. I still haven't gotten used to the fact zombies can detect you from such a massive range. I also hate how the maps don't have a pointer when you go off of them. It's hard to explain in words, but in bedrock, if im not in the area for the map, the cursor on the side still points in the direction im going/facing. Making finding buried treasures and structures so much easier to do.
I ALSO FUCKING HATE HOW YOU GLIDE IN CREATIVE ON JAVA EDITION. And you stop flying the second you hit the ground in creative too. In bedrock, when you're flying in creative when you stop you stop exactly where you are. Absolutely no gliding, and to me, that was such a major difference that I actively avoided playing java for a while. I've sorta gotten used to it, but I still hate it so much. I wish there was a way to turn it off. And the fact you stop floating the second you touch the ground in java pisses me off too. I only played mobile bedrock so you need to double-click to stop flying, (it's been a while so I might be wrong). I miss being able to just float along the floor and it makes such a massive difference when your building is creative. I can't properly explain it in words. Go try the other versions of creative mode. I bet there are things you wish your version had and things you are glad your version doesn't have.
But all the differences aside, both versions feel like Minecraft. And they are both so fun to play with or without friends. I just play what most of my other friends can play. And that's Minecraft bedrock edition.

Very interesting indeed, I did not realize that there was so many differences. I've never played on Java, I play bedrock edition on my xbox. I always thought that Java was superior if you have a good computer/processor.

I really like this video, it's not like the other "Java player plays bedrock for the first time" videos, where they say "Wow this is so bad because I'm not used to it" you actually give valid criticisms and compare the two without resorting to name calling
