What you are about to see is the analysis and breakdown of just how Jordan Peterson recognizes attacks and also WHY he proved victorious in his confrontation with Cathy Newman.

Below are books that I found really interesting.Check these out!🙌
These are Heavy-Duty books that contain A LOT of interesting information.
By using my links you are helping me get through schooling. Thank you so much🙂

Psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson was invited onto channel for news to be interviewed by English Journalist Cathy Newman. Throughout the interview, Jordan Peterson felt that Cathy Newman made SEVERAL attempts at contorting his words and misrepresenting his statements. After a myriad of attempts at getting her to stop, Peterson had no choice but to confront her and have a psychological standoff on live television. What you are about to see is the analysis and breakdown of just how Jordan Peterson recognizes attacks and also WHY he proved victorious in his confrontation with Cathy Newman.
Cathy Newman makes a statement. When you make dogmatic statements and use accusatory language such as “ Instead of, denying, and, which is what you did,” The receiver of these statements will often feel like they are being attacked because when someone makes statements such as these, they are no longer neutral in the conversation, they are on the attack and often times the receiver of these accusatory words shows signs of restrained anger and then blatant defense.
Often times When a attack is made like this, the anger is at first, restrained, because the defender wants to keep the conversation neutral and also has the potential to be in partial disbelief as to what just happened.
Here we see Jordan Peterson do just that, you can see the microexpressions in his lips, that portray his anger, no matter how diligently he tries to hide it. *definition* This converys that Jordan Peterson knows that was an attack but he is constraining his anger because to give himself a chance to defend himself before making an attack back. *facial expression while listening to her question* That right there is a forced smile, he is going along with her narrative until he gets a chance to speak and render her argument null and void.
What he does here is listen to cathys question and nods but when given the chance to speak, he

Hello Everyone this was a very fun one to do. I feel that Cathy Newman really would have had a good chance to have a intellectual debate with Jordan Peterson but it appeared to Dr Peterson that she had ulterior, mendacious motives. What are your thoughts on this? I played around with the sound this episode and although not yet perfect, the audio levels sound a lot more even to me than my last one, thank you all for the constructive criticism regarding the sound last episode. I read all the comments so feel free to leave a suggestion or leave a link to a potential analysis. Thanks for your time guys hope you have a great day 🙂

Two years later and there is still a pool of interesting analyses from this interview. This should be taught in journalism

Generally speaking, I don't write YouTube comments. This may in fact be my first one, not sure. But since you said you read them all. I figured I take a shot and let you know how much I enjoy these video breakdowns. I've marathon-ed a few already and will continue to as long as you make them. Intuitively I've felt these tense moments you've highlighted but it's amazing to have them dissected so well. Keep up the amazing work, I will practice staring directly at people with my neck exposed to assert dominance over them.

Now this was truly entertaining to watch. I not only saw Mr. Peterson have a genuine conversation with someone who isn't as aware of their own behavior, but I got to see him play the game really well under tension and frustration, then overcoming it and winning. Absolutely incredible. I'll have to take very close note of this.

Unfortunately, there is a really easy way to appear as a 'tough' and well-read interviewer, and that is to act like Cathy Newman. Say, I don't know anything about snails and I am interviewing a snail expert:

So, you are an expert on snails. Are you saying that other sea creatures are not worth studying?
No, it is just that my professional life is focused on snails.

So, what you are saying is - just ignore the fish.

No, I am not saying that, I am just doing research on snails.

But in your book, you just write about snails.

Because, er...., it is a book about snails.

So, you are saying that books about snails should just be written by men? Leave it to the women to write about fish?
I'm not saying that....

Well, if you are not denying that fish are equal, which you did at the beginning of this conversation, then why don't you write a book about fish? What's wrong with fish?

And so it goes on and on. It is really lazy journalism.

I think it would be beneficial to include where he consoles her in this video. It shows how a true leader full of wisdom handles such a situation.

I’ve watched this video and the Peterson interview both over 10 times just because it’s fun picking up on the subtle things both him and the interviewer show

Some of these moments, like the laughter from JP, was also because over time he started to understand how to deal with the situation, which naturally brings tension to an ease. No doubt you can tell he was stressed out throughout, but he becomes generally more relaxed as the interview goes along. It seems to me that characterizing the interaction as if it was a kind of "war" they were having is not accurate. It looks more like tension is trying to find relief; JP was not trying to dominate her, he was trying to keep her honest.
