High IQ comes with one of the biggest albatross you can be judged and saddled with: Potential.

So true. I was rated with a 160 IQ when i was 8. I was given special treatment by my school to 'nurture me'.
I got big headed, complacement and stopped trying because I'd just ace tests.
Long story short initially I ended up failing in the real world because life isnt about just taking a test. As an adult It took a long time to WORK to prove my worth and catch up with my 'dumb' friends who ALWAYS had to work hard to prove themselves.
Now my 8 year old sons school say he's a genius... Ive told the school not to tell him. Hes humble and he works hard, i plan to keep it that way. I want a better path for him.
Pride is a cardinal sin. Only by being humble did i start to succeed in life.

My IQ was tested when I was a teenager and i scored 147, I've done nothing with this gift but lived a life of regret and underachievement. Hard work and discipline trumps IQ 99 times out of 100

There is a calmness in knowing you have a high IQ because it makes you think that your chances of success is much higher, but the factors that produce success isn’t IQ.

High IQ is definitely a double edged sword. And it's often impractically applied.

The hardest part is the awareness of the world around you… Recently, I read a quote, (paraphrased) in simple form; “when Everyone around you is crazy, and you are the sane one.., Isn’t it fair to say that now you’ll be perceived as crazy”? — interesting food for thought, *again simplified and paraphrased.

It's such anathema to discipline. You spend your whole life thinking your way out of stuff until suddenly you can't and now you're severely lacking in everything

Yup... have experienced that, and you must stay humble. Stay grounded.

That's the scary thing about having a high IQ because it doesn't say anything about your character or nature, what your morals and beliefs are or whether you are good or evil.
