Does having a PR card (and no criminal convictions of course) guarantee you'll get settled status? Or do you still need to prove residency?

Following my marriage to an English girl, I was granted indefinite leave to remain in 1967 with a letter from Home office as proof. Unfortunately I moved several times and the letter got lost. I applied for EU settlement and received email saying that my application was successful. The e mail also said that the email itself was not proof and the only proof was the number on the passport. wouldn't be better if the Home Office issued a card with photo as proof of status!

For the past 2 weeks I have been trying to scan my EU ID biometric card and other documents without success, constantly getting this message "There was a problem taking the image try to take the image again" I am using a Samsung Galaxy S8 NFC is enable in the phone`s settings but even so it does not work always getting the same message "There was a problem taking the image try to take the image again" this is driving me crazy it makes me believe the problem is with the app, if anyone has experienced the same or similar problems let me know any help would be greatly appreciated.
