I had to stay in bed on my back the entire labor and delivery. It was horrible. I was only 19 and didn’t know how to advocate for myself. With my second I walked and labored on my hands and knees. The difference of 10 minutes pushing and over and hour pushing. Let pregnant women move!

So basically I just get in position that I did to get pregnant 😂

Seems that those also helped make the baby in the first place. Circle of life.

I instinctively squatted. I was only 18 and was left alone in a room and the contractions were hitting hard😳

I had to give birth in the car and I naturally pushed while on my side. It helped A LOT

I stood for my entire labor. I jacked the bed up as high as it could go lean on it and rocked my hips I swear it’s what had my baby come so fast!

With my first I had a crappy epidural that affected my girls heart rate. They flipped me over to my stomach really quickly but then as soon as I was ready to push they flipped me back to my back. It felt awful and my baby's heart rate dropped again. With my second and third I didn't have an epidural and pushed in half squat half hands and knees. It felt the most right and I had more confidence to just do what I wanted and trust my body. So much so that the dr didn't even catch him because she was joking around with my husband about the office while I pushed by myself. It was great I really did not want to be touched and she picked up on that without me having to say anything

I plan on squatting or being on my hands and knees. That’s the goal at least

My mom was from the time where you laid on your back the whole time, epidural or not. She had me on her side because of complications and she said it was a dream and her (male!!❤️) L&D nurse held her leg up the whole time while my dad held her hands. She said even though it was the scariest birth, her nurse made it the easiest

That hands and knee position feels SO GOOD. I do that position when I need some pressure relief on the bump. Plan on using it for labor and delivery! Whatever feels comfortable, I want to do.

Hands and knees has been my fav! But I have given birth while standing, too 😂 baby finds a way out whether you’re ready or not!

I’m about to have a baby and I promise you I hope my nurses are as amazing as you!

It is SO important that women be free to move instinctively. Having a woman flat on her back might be "convenient" for doctors but it is the worst position to labour. Don't let anyone stop you from moving.

then your delivery doctor panics and makes you lay on your back instead of giving you other options 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

All positions to get pregnant help with birthing too! Imagine that! 🙋✨

I always thought the leg sturups position used for labor looked way more convenient for the doctor than the mother. My theory is that position creates more pain for the mother and more likely to lead to tearing.
