Great discussion! I found the last two books so disappointing. I feel like Yancey killed off Cassie for shock value. I really loved the first book, but I kind of wish I had just stopped there.

I'm honestly never going to read this series so I had to watch this one.
I'm sorry the ending was horrible, sounds pretty ridiculous to me also.

I completely agree with all your points. I also so disappointed. I myself made a video discussion of this series and last book where I made some similar points. Such a big disappointment.

You make some really good valid points!! I've always just accepted the author's choice without question. But yeah, why didn't he allow Cassie to escape? My only comment is that, yes, Cassie was all about Sam, so maybe she made the choice to save the world to ultimately give Sam a chance to survive and be happy and be allowed to actually grow up. Her choice was for Sam? 😞
