Former firefighter medic. Two most important things: 1. Slow TF down regardless. If you must speed, take it to a track. 2. Keep your distance. 4 seconds in GOOD weather/road conditions, 6 to 8 in bad weather/road conditions. The heavier your vehicle, the more distance you need.

For new truckers and ppl that are not truckers.

This tends to happen when you're not loaded, and use heavily the retarder over the break pads.

If you're unloaded and you use the retarder only the head reduces speed, so the semi pushes you and lifts up the drive train so you lose grip right in the middle of the combo and basically it's gonna fold just like you see here.

If it's raining and you don´t have load, especially on the drive train, use first the foot break then the retarder, or don't use the retarder at all.
If this happens too you and you have semi break, remove the retarder, and trigger the semi break while accelerating.

Also as a general rule, don't be afraid of using the pad breaks, you're not gonna burn them if you use them right. What burns them is prolonged friction, because they don't cool down. Break harder and for less time.
