Omg, a real one within this space... Finally a critical take on the information that's flooding youtube. Barriers to Entry within any business venture are always important to recognise. If there are technically "low" barriers to entry then you can likely assume that its flooded, generic and not specific enough to sell products.

It's a bigger issue if someone is suggesting you take someone else's design and not make an original work.

I tried using Canva at first (im a graphic designer but i thought it might be quicker to use canva) until….I dug into the terms of use.
You can only use canva products to sell items as long as you have a continuous subscription to canva pro, you can NOT use a design as is, it has to be an element of a design but cannot be the design itself.
You cant make a logo in canva and use it as your logo in Etsy and a few other restrictions I didn’t like.
So I just started using photoshop which i like better anyway i have way more design freedom and if i need design elements i get them from creative fabrica. There terms of use are still a bit strict but not nearly as bad as Canva.

I use canva, canva is great, but I don’t use anything they offer as far as elements fonts etc, I get all my graphics either from creative fabrica or I draw them on procreate and upload all of those to canva and resize or mock ups, I also use photoshop but I’m still learning it, canva is just super easy. Just use your own graphics\designs\fonts

I agree with what you are saying exactly, we started up a store based on these YouTube models, but we got lucky and got sales with a bit of work and yes it does work if you put the time into it and do your research !!!
