Hey, Travis! We thought Marianna, FL, was going to get a direct hit, but the storm landed east of us near Perry, FL. We got a little wind and rain, and we had a few branches to pick up. God was definitely with us. Glad y'all are okay!

Good to hear y’all are safe. My brother’s house in Valdosta was hit by two huge pines but he and his wife are safe. Love your new greenhouse.

I think I told you in an email, I lost my garden shed, which was an old loafing shed for the horses I'd built on to and converted into a building for my garden tools and supplies, closing the addition in on 3 sides. That 12x12 addition is all that's still there, mostly, lol. I caught and always do, the dirty side of the storm, so I got a lot more wind than I was expecting. I hadn't considered how massive and wide this one was. I've been through several in my 50 years here, and this was definitely the worst. We can easily get 50 maybe 60 mph from the south gusts off that 5 acre field in front, but this time it had to be that constantly, with gusts higher. I still maintain the huge clumps of bamboo I planted in front of the house years ago, saved it. They knock I'm sure 50 - 75% of the wind off me. All in all, I hate to even talk about what I got, considering Those poor people north of me. My thoughts and prayers are with them every minute of the day. Glad you're ok too.

Great to hear you came through the hurricane in one piece. I’m in northeastern North Carolina and we were thankfully spared, but can’t say the same for western NC. Extensive flooding, and road and bridge damage that will take years to recover from.

Glad you missed the brunt of the storm! We live in central Louisiana and occasionally get rough weather when a hurricane hits Louisiana

I had some of my fishtail palm go down. I have some corn in my garden bed and it did good. I haven’t had in there too long. I’m waiting until we hear what this next storm will do or not do.Im glad y’all are good.

My family lives in Virginia, so we didn’t have any real hurricane damage, but we had several dams break and virtually. The whole area was completely underwater houses and all.

Those hurricanes ain't got no mercy, Trav. Glad you dodged it a bit. As a child, I experienced Hugo, and walked out right in the garden of the hurricane's eye to see blue sky. Then the second freight train hit us. We went down to the coast the next day to help out and good lord, the land was scrubbed clean of everything. I find it impossible to describe to my west coast friends how bad hurricanes are.

Glad yall are okay. My heart breaks for the people that got hit hard. We're in Va near the N.C. line, we got wind and alot of rain and had a tornado touch down in our county 2 other tornados touch down in neighboring counties. We are fortunate.

The center of the storm passed very close to where I live in upstate SC. I've had no electricity or running water for six days. We got a generator early this afternoon and about four hours later the power came on. Trees are down everywhere. A neighbor has a five acre woodlot with mixed hardwoods. Nearly every red oak over 80 years old was uprooted. The white oaks and hickories faired much better with mainly diseased or old trees being toppled. I would guess he has at least 50 large trees down. Some areas were much worse than here. Greenville had heavy rains two days prior to the hurricane, so they had severe flooding and even more toppled trees.
Anyway, I'm glad you didn't get hammered Travis. Bless your family.

I am so grateful that you all are alright. I was very worried about you and your sweet family. Needless to say I offered many prayers for your wellbeing and Father came through. May God continue to bless you abundantly.🙂

So glad your damage was minimal. I got lucky here in FL; most amazing thing was that I got power back within 12 hours. What a huge relief that was.

We were pretty lucky as well! We are in zone 10b Southwest Florida. We didn’t lose power but we did have a lot of tree damage and debris and were flooded but we have a home to go inside and we have power so we were spared. Glad you were too. I was worried about you guys.

We were prepared for the worst here in Tallahassee, but somebody at the Mag Lab made sure that thing was on and it jogged to the right. We didn’t lose power. Perry and Live Oak got hammered.
