It really depends on how you feel about it. Sometimes, depending on the situation, one word doesn't fit, but in some situations, it could be either one and there's no way of knowing if the speaker is using it right or making a mistake. "So" is usually more emotionally emphatic than "very". You could say "this less is very good!" or "this lesson is so good!" depending on how strongly you feel about it.

I loved the explanation. The thing is, What would be the difference between VERY X REALLY? I've already gotten the difference between VERY X TOO but I still can't feel or even understand when to use VERY and when to use REALLY. I learnt English when I lived in the USA, so I know that for some words it sounds weird to say VERY or to say REALLY. Here in Brazil, students often use VERY for most of the situations.TKS
