On this episode of Drifting Off Topic we're out in the jungle of Florida diving into some car building tips as well as hate on some silly things people do and poor financial decisions. Pat and Tanner bring up some really good points and Chelsea sings some emo songs. We're running the entire operation off of a Type S Powergen 500 and plan to see where else we can bring the show!

Be sure to check out our other episode if you'd like to hear more banter.

Like, hate, talk smack, and subscribe for more drifting related BS.

Brother. The only thing I “dislike” about this podcast is that we’re only on episode 2. I need another 100 hours to listen to!

Why didn’t this video get way more likes and views. I wish i was recommended your channel a long time ago. I’ve learned so much over the last few weeks watching your content. I just bought an e46 and I’m building my first drift build because of you. I wish you tremendous success man you are awesome.

Counter to the wheel stud thing: if you do run the same size wheel all the time and you tune a bank turn with a spring adjustment instead of a wheel spacer, a longer stud is just that many more threads to potentially get damaged. Longer lug nuts, which most cars use make the threading process no big deal. Don't get me wrong though, I do like extended studs if they have a purpose on that particular car.

You guys should touch on lsds vs welded/spools, curious to know what all the pros are using in the quick changes. I did one event on a welded 8.8 and I hated it going back to a stock rx8 diff that I rebuilt for this season

This video has alot value in it, way more then most YouTubers in the car world. Keep speaking the truth and being honest, it helps a lot.

Thank you guys

Just fyi, I heard you talk about the interior lighting for buckling in and whatnot on another podcast, and immediately went out and bought light strips to install on my cage/under my dash. Greatest tip ever.

I love this, please make more content like this.
Ordered extended wheel studs while the video was playing. Thats so crazy that you have a car so setup that you can feel the difference between different wheel offsets. I aspire to be on that level someday.

i agree big time on most of the topics discussed, esspecially the motorsport specific parts and the maintenance requirements. The general populous just dont understand how finicky and consumable these parts really are. Im really looking forward to future episodes. i also hope you guys are willing to deep dive and get super technical on occasion, these type of discussions really are a gold mine.

Once bought three 5.3l LS engines for $325 each. They were all very clean with complete intake manifolds. I think this was in like 2008, oh the days. Love that you guys started doing this podcast.

One of the first things I did on both my e46s was extended studs. I have 4 different sets of wheels all with different offsets so I understand Chelsea’s point. I’m not a great drifter and I can feel the difference in the offset with how much it grips.

The 1000hp on video game statement is so true it’s sad!!! I’m on a sim setup but I don’t run anything more then 550hp and I keep up with everyone on 1000hp+ I think it’s more people don’t understand how to properly setup their cars and suspension to get chassis grip so they go with the biggest tire and the most hp with zero tire pressure!! I can’t thank you enough for all the knowledge you’ve shared because I have some of the best cars I’ve felt on sim!

The talk about shirts with names on them and Pat's little smirk as looks down at his. So good.

Happy to say I proudly rock extended wheel studs so I can run slip on spacers for this reason!

37:05 The forum era was perfect for information. Now people plan builds that are way too much, aren't built from a design (that you already know works) and it turns into a project car that never gets finished.
