He’s a clear serial cheater, and he blatantly lied about how little he had cheated

He cheated for prize money in several serious events too

It doesn’t even MATTER if he’s never cheated OTB, Magnus still had every right to suspect him

For a defamation lawsuit, you need a statement that is factually wrong, and the person knows it is wrong, but publishes it anyway.
Since Magnus isn't an idiot, he never said anything defamatory. Plus, Hans HAS cheated before, so him cheating OTB is a legitimate possibilty. So talking about it isn't defamatory. They don't have a case here.

In Esports, in Asia for example, when someone is caught cheating he is most of the time banned for life. Hans admitted his past cheats. I'm trying to imagine those esport cheaters suing the people who got him caught, and it's so absurd it's hilarious. How did the chess ecosystem become so clownish over time, i wonder. It used to be treated with seriousness and respect.
