96 = [ 8*11 ] + 8

Rule is : [a*b] +a

It's 40 because you have to figure out the pattern from each answer before and add that number

2+5=12
3+6=21
8+11=40 but
ANSWER IS 40 SIR

I get 40 ...after going over several times ( im math phobic 😢) once I realized he was adding the result of the sum: 2+ 5=7 ( now add the 7 to the answer in the 1st math problem (5) that result gets u =12

Depending on how you do it, it’s either 40 or 96. Both are right.
