In this video, we’re going to talk about the difference between B2B Sales and Business Development. This is especially valuable if you in any sales role like being an account executive, account manager, sales development rep, or business development rep.

B2B Sales is a sales model business that sells its products or services to another business (typically selling happens over the phone, in-person, and email). B2B sales require a salesperson to prospect into different companies who may be a great fit for their product or service. B2B sales is also more transaction vs. strategic.

The definition of Business Development is the process of developing growth opportunities and relationships with other organizations. Business development tends to be more strategic and focused on key partnerships vs. selling to as many customers as possible.

Great breakdown of business development versus B2B Sales. In the Yzy and GAP collaboration you explain what business development is, highlight how it's strategic and not transactional, and how it benefits both parties. In B2B sales, is there a Business Development role that is different from what a Business Development Rep or Sales Development Rep does? If so, is that role entry level and is it called Business Development (as in not BDR or SDR)? My understanding is BDR and SDR are interchangeable, /one and the same. In your video you're explaining "Business Development" distinctively from these roles, but within the context of retail clothing brands. Does such a "Business Development" role exist in tech sales (that is not BDR/SDR).

I am challenging your definition.
I believe that BD is the collection of all those activities, which result will have an effect on sales, marketing, the product, and on the strategy as well.
What you say is much more like "sales+KAM", or similar.
