As a long time follower, I wanted to say that if you had to stop today for your health- my life would already be much better for having you and your videos in it. Thank you

Adam you probably will never read this but hearing you be so honest about your struggles really moved me and makes me feel less alone in mine. I really appreciate hearing that and I hope you find better days ahead.

Feels like just last week we were on episode 76.

Thanks for being willing to be frank and honest about your struggles. While more and more folks are more and more willing to talk about how debilitating anxiety and depression can be, I still think there’s immense value in hearing it from a Gen X man. Your willingness to just matter of factly state what you’re going through and why is super admirable. Obviously, folks’ll be bummed if you decide to step away from all this, but never mind that shit. You know what’s important to you, and that’s even more admirable.

Listened earlier on Spotify. Hope things turn around for you and your audience respects that also. Appreciate your honesty

I believe the step-by-step format of most comfy/cozy content also strikes us deeply from an anthropological perspective. We have made tools, clothes, homes, food etc for all the time that we have been humans. Therefore when a lot of us don’t get to do hands-on jobs anymore, we find comfort in the content that *is* hands-on and takes us with the creator on the journey.

I really like watching those rug cleaning videos. I find them very soothing.

Also, you take whatever time you need, Adam. If you don't have your health, what have you got? 👍

Adam,
Take your time, take care of yourself. Thank you for your amazing work.
It's fun listening to you, but only as long as your enjoying to record to us as well.
You do you first. We'll be here if and when you choose to publish

As a long time viewer I can honestly say that your wellbeing and happiness is of paramount importance here. I truly appreciate your content and can honestly say that, as a divorced, sixty something year old man living on my own in the uk you have helped me, a lot, during Covid I would be upset if you stopped but even more would be happy that you had not allowed the trappings of internet stardom cheat you of happiness! As you always say, make good choices and be happy with what really matters, your lovely partner and your growing family!

Listened to the podcast already and just want to say thank you for everything you do. I support whatever decision you end up making and i think knowing you’re doing well and are healthy is more important to me personally than you grinding yourself down for the sake of an upload. Particularly in your case where it’s possible for you not to have to.

Adam It makes me very sad to hear that you are in such a horrible situation, you are my favorite food content creator and I appreciate you very much, I started following your content because of the videos that were about the science behind food and those are still my main interest but I actually love all your videos

Thank you very much for all your work, all your time and dedication... I wish you well and I hope you feel better soon

Wow, I'm really tearing up at your confession both because I relate on a mental and emotional level, and also because I admire your ability to be honest and vulnerable with us. We see you as entertaining, educational, and good natured but it's heartbreaking to see you suffer this anyway.
Sorry for the rambling, I hope you take the time you need to take care. Thank you for everything you done for your audience! ❤

I'm sorry your struggles have been getting harder man. if you stopped doing YouTube and social media tomorrow your work has already nurtured, cultivated, and encouraged my most prized skill and talent. you will forever have my admiration as the man who stated my journey in the kitchen. you are a shining example of humanity

I'm so sorry man. Truly. I have had terrible times over the last few years, and it's strange to me now that I'm on the tail end of them that I feel somehow worse. Having time and resources to think about all the things, little and large, that have hurt us, or that we have done to hurt others, is strangely difficult to bear at times. I hope you find a path that helps you in many ways. I care about you too.

Glaucoma is a condition where the pressure in your eye is too high, flecken just means "spots". Glaucomflecken are the (blind) spots that people with glaucoma can develop.

I too have struggled with depression and anxiety. However, I live a live that is as private as reasonably possible. Talking about it even to people I know isn't that easy. I can only imagine how much the anxiety must hit you. Hope you get better. Thank you for all of the amazing content you create.

Adam thank you so much for all the content you've already done. You're by far my favourite content creator on this platform. You speaking about your mental health hit me hard this afternoon and I'm so happy for you that you are self-aware enough to "make good choices" as you always say.

It takes a lot of courage to step back and focus on ones self

I've been feeling the same kind of feelings with my recent diagnoses of anxiety & depression. wishing the best for you- I work at a startup that's got a foot in "Content Creation" and realize how stressful it can be. I've had the incredible luxury of never having had a """real job""" at all, but the concept is always looming ahead. we'll make it through, always.
