That’s partially correct, as a bar owner I’ll tell you:

That’s why certain glasses are made for certain type of beers.

And now, about the pouring it’s the part were he is partially correct but still pouring it half way of foam is incorrectly.

That’s just an old trick.

Foam must be 1/4 TOPS not 1/2. That’s just wrong.

Just taste wise, most beers really benefit from retaining that natural carbonation. Makes it much more crisp and refreshing and allows you to enjoy it for longer
