There are old dry lake beds all around the Los Vegas area. They fill up most rainy seasons. We have a model aircraft flying area just out of Boulder that most wet years turns back into a lake. It is simply called the Boulder Dry Lake bed. You can sit at the Rail Road Pass casino bar and see it.

We drove our motorcycles on our first trip to Death Valley in 1974. This is one of the hottest, driest places on earth and we ended up in a flood and almost froze to death camping out. Surprise!

I would love to see a desert, I took care of a guy's wife and he told me, how she when younger went right out there into the cacuses and dtones, when watned not to, to take beautiful pictures of the landscape. I always admired after that, you never know what anybody has done in their life, if you don't know them.
