This was performed on an Ml 320 cdi but the process can be applied to other Diesel vehicles.
cleaning the egr hose can make your car run much more efficiently, it really is a big issue in the OM642 ENGINE which is used in the Jeep Grand Cherokee also.

At the egr, where the three bolts are, for putting it back together it's easier to put the gasket in the hole than to try and insert pipe back in with it on, also having it back together has created a slight hesitation, a sputter out of first, will this go away

partly blocked egr is the most efficient, as there is less exhaust gas going to cylinders. By cleaning that tube you let more exhaust gas to the cylinders. It's actually less efficient. Of course if it's totally blocked and you get a code, then its necessary to clean it.

Friend, I saw your video, I tried to loosen the tube by removing the 3 screws and it didn't come out, it's just stuck with those 3 screws? When the 3 screws are removed, what do I do?

I have a 2008 ML320 CDI and it's generating P1402 EGR errors throwing it into limp mode. I clear the codes but they keep on returning, especially when I get stuck in traffic. Highway driving not so much. So the EGR unit may be good after all and only crapped up lines - per your video. Thanks for the info!

Well done, But the real kicker is in the manifolds themselves. They are coked up with gunge, trust me... They NEED cleaning. Took a full afternoon in a parts washer and buckets of petrol to dislodge it all. Used an industrial steam supply to blast it out. Good vid. Keep it up.

Does cleaning the EGR pipe improve the car's fuel economy? Does the car warm up to a faster operating temperature?

An additional oil separator with crankcase gases must be installed on these motors.
The engine will live longer, swirl flaps and particulate filter .
На эти моторы надо ставить дополнительно сепаратор картерных газов с возвратом масла.

Hi there! At 0:47 how I can remove that bolt? Which tool should I use?It seems that bolt is too long to use a normal socket!Thank you!

Hi, did you remove the fan shroud and plastic guard in front of the fan first? I have a W212 OM642 and there's so little room to access there, I think the fan has to come out? Thanks!

Please tell me if pulling on the pipe is enough to remove it correctly. I can't visually see that end of the EGR pipe. After I removed the 3 screws I could wiggle the pipe but not remove it to clean it. Without being able to visually see the end I didn't want to go to far out of fear something was retaining the pipe. Watching the video the pipe looks like it should slip off without a problem. I did wiggle it plenty but wasn't able to get it off. Great videos BTW to watch and I hope you keep them coming. ML320 CDI 295, 000 miles still going strong here in the States.

Alright, but that doesnt block intake manifold air from turbo right? Is just blocks EGR gas to intake manifold..and usually a lot of people wants this mod, to block the EGR for better combustion and cleaner oil/intake manifold
