For anyone still looking for this, it still works, and also, after leaving whiterun and coming back, you can just grab the items from your companion, and have them pick up the ones on the floor to save time, no need to drop them all again.

This glitch can work for ANY item. I can multiply ingredients, potions, Daedra Hearts, armors, weapons, and even soul gems!! Saves many days of leveling and item crafting.

I do this every plauthrough. Makes the smithing so much easier too level up. I just miss the days where you could just use iron daggers and it was 3 times as fast

For anyone wondering if you have an amount on the ground that you’re ok will duplicating you don’t have to pick them up and take the ones out of your followers inventory then drop them you can just immediately pick them up they will still duplicate, until your followers inventory is full of course.

This actually works! It works with soul stone too. The only problem i encountered was that FU@&ING kid running around making the items fly all over the place

I can confirm that this works on Xbox One in 2019 without mods, I don’t have the Skyrim unofficial patch installed so I don’t know if that affects it, so if you do this glitch and it doesn’t work, turning off that mod is the first thing I’d try.

quick helpful update: you don't need to pick them up again then drop them, just have your follower pick them up and they'll respawn again so it's 10 times quicker and saves time, and a better spot to do it is under the bridge when you enter whiterun so the items won't spread out as much and no npcs will get in the way so you don't accidently attack them, @JOE3XP i would recommend making another video on my way of doing it
