2024 BMW 5 Series - Interior and Exterior Walkaround

The 2024 BMW 5 Series, with the codename G60, undergoes a profound aesthetic evolution, drawing inspiration from BMW's recent design language seen in the 1 Series and X1 SUV. Departing from the aggressive demeanor of sports cars like the M3 and M4, the exterior features vertically striped headlights and a reimagined "double kidney" grille, offering optional Iconic Glow technology for a striking visual effect. The side profile adheres to business sedan conventions but adds a touch of flair with a high shoulder design, distinctive "5" relief on the rear pillar, and newly designed rims ranging from 18" to 21". The rear design exudes elegance with a sleek, aerodynamic splitter and flat light clusters forming an "L" light signature. Customization options include the M Sport and M Sport Pro packages, along with BMW Individual color schemes. The 2024 5 Series grows in dimensions, reaching 5.06 meters in length, with a 3 cm increase in width and height. Inside, the increased length translates to a longer wheelbase, providing enhanced space and comfort. The interior features a sustainable touch, introducing fully vegan options for seats, dashboard, steering wheel, and door panels, a first for BMW. The Veganza configuration offers a leather-like feel with a perforated finish. Technological sophistication is evident with the BMW Curved Display, combining a 14.9" instrument panel and a 12.3" infotainment screen, both part of the BMW Operating System 8.5 with 5G connectivity. Safety takes a forefront with features like adaptive cruise control, augmented reality head-up display, and the world-first Active Lane Change Assistant with eye activation. This system allows for automatic lane changes by simply shifting one's gaze from the road to the external rearview mirror. In line with the sustainable trend, the 2024 5 Series offers various powertrain options, including classic petrol and diesel variants with 48V Mild Hybrid systems. The lineup includes 4-cylinder engines for the 520i and 520d, 6-cylinder options, and Plug-in Hybrid variants like the 530e.

pretty sad that the ambient lightning is pretty dull in the petrol and diesel-engine versions of the new 5-series. Does somebody know maybe when the crystal-look ambient lightning is available again?

It's a cool car I think but why are BMW putting 4 cyl engines in a 530i? Seems a little weird considering the 530 was always a straight six. I wonder how it impacts the whole perfect balance thing with straight 6 in the front and rwd that they always go on about. Cool video.

Probably the worst walk around I ever seen. We can’t see second row vent featured, ventilated nor heated seats. No massage seat at the front? Doesn’t show how to control the vents. Doen’t open the center consol.

I understand there is shift in auto industry from oil to electric but BMW went too far from its identity.This car looks too fat with its passive looking headlights and tailights.Profile seems wrong too.Interior looks anything but what BMW should look like.
