The 2024 BMW i5 M60 xDrive ($113,600 as specced in Canada, $92,450 in the US) is BMW’s first fully electric 5-Series sedan. Over 600 horsepower is on tap when using M Sport Boost mode and it has a predicted EPA range of 412 kilometers. With oodles of power and a sophisticated suspension system, the i5 aims to provide the familiar experience of speed and comfort that one might expect of a 5-Series sedan. But does it achieve its goals? And how different is it now that the drivetrain has been electrified? Thomas and James are excited to find out! We hope you enjoy the episode. And then subscribe, silly.

Absolutely massacred all their car’s designs. The 2014 5 series is one of the most beautiful sedans ever made. What the hell happened

When I was a kid I dreamt about BMW 7series. Later on I liked 5series a little more. I can easily state that the previous version of all BMWs was the last thing I craved for.

I never thought BMW would kill the 5-series. I understood (sort of), the experimentation with the 4-series and other models, but I never thought they would take the 5-series out like this. I have absolutely loved my prior 5s, but I do not want this car. Comparing this new 5 to the prior gen's exterior is shocking. I have zero desire to own it. So sad.

The interior is like a teenage gamer's bedroom, complete with the purple LED lights lining the walls/car and everything

I did NOT expect that ending 😂
And the opening skit was hilarious, especially how it continued even after the TH logo intro, absolutely loved this video, can't wait to see the full fledged M5!

Just love the unrehearsed banter in the car portion. Just hilarious, unrefined pure honest opinion. Sets you guys apart and above anyone else. Love it.

My first BMW was a 1991 525i that I bought in 1995 and to this day I'm still emotional about it. The reason is it was the first car I ever had with: leather seats, heated seats, power headrests, a ZF trans, and it handled flawlessly. In the 20 years since I sold it, I can't think of a 5-Series I have ever wanted LESS than this new one...

Makes the old 5 series a classic. Beautiful video.

I just picked up an M550i with dynamic handling package. I plan to hold on to that V8 sleeper for quite awhile! That is the last of the great BMW 5 series cars, in my opinion.

Thanks to your team, this new era of boring cars seems less boring.

When i've seen you toguether performing the test, is obvioud that you need to fill with your fantàstic work all the voids that this electric cars has .
Soulness, mildness, etc
Great team and great work too!!

I appreciate how well you can tailor the message to the car manufacturers where their cars suck versus the previous version. It's hard to avoid the electric elephant in the room every review.

Love your reviews. 🙂

"A perfect Lexus." That is profound, and I agree with that characterization. Great review, as always. Thanks!

I love it when you show the people sitting in the back of the car. I find that visual reference very informative
