Pro tip, don't rinse your filter sponges in the sink because that kills the beneficial bacteria. Do it in that dirty bucket of water you already siphoned from the aquarium

Yeah i dont keep mine that "clean" but i keep a different style of fish tanks. I like to try and let them live like wild fish.

I don't dump it down my toilet. I feel like all that extra pressure in your toilet eventually wouldn't be good for the piping. I actually dumped my fish water on my plants outside and they love it! And I'm talking about just normal trees and bushes in your yard too. I also give it to my indoor plants too (orchid, aloe vera, succulents, bamboo, and what I believe is a philodendron).

And I clean my filters in the dirty tank water I've removed. It's gross lol but I like to maintain as much BB as possible
