This is just a quick video on the belt sander were using. There are many of them out there. They are usually way more complex. This is a non-variable speed belt sander. 2 x 42. The description is below with a link to purchasing one of these. We have a lot of fund and they are great for commercial sharpening. They are to be respected and can be dangerous. We want to show you around this particular unit. We want to thank Ryan Swanson for introducing it to us. I know Brent Nolen used to use them and has one but he has upgraded sense so it just tells you that even the knife makers are using this machine. If you're new to it, then this is a great starting machine. It's at an affordable price and somewhat easy to use. We did have to make modifications. We do explain the modifications.

The Palmgren (Yours says Dayton, they are all the same one just rebranded) 2x42! I own this belt grinder myself and have made numerous knives with it, and yes, I had to modify the bottom housing just like that one as well as I put on a dead flat glass platen. I eventually want to get a 2x72, but for now I don't have the space "exactly", at least not where I would want it, and I am not churning out enough knives to warrant that additional cost... There is a 2x42 though that exists in the same form / shape as a 2x72 I plan on getting though with an adjustable speed driver... Just need to save a few pennies. Welcome to the club, Greg! I know this is 6 months old, but I just saw it and wanted to say that. lol

Interesting to see the time needed to make this video. Started in bright daylight, finished at dusk.

Most people work edge leading. Never shot into me. Never cut a belt besides a stroping belt and everyone has done that on accident. (The one time you can't be edge leading)

Welcome to the DARK SIDE.
When I started with stones, everybody was saying to not sharpen knives too aggressively or you'll west down you knife too fast.

Couple of things - maybe start a health channel to tell us how you're so fit now, and spill everything on the platten😉

I think you shouldn’t have made the video if you couldn’t show the platen. Long time fan, but this seemed crappy.
